Surrounded by pristine nature and year-round outdoor activities, just 50 metres from the cross-country ski trails and 3,3 km from the alpine ski slopes.
Tykkytie Cottage offers much more than a cosy 46 m² cottage: in the private yard, you will find a new wood-fired barrel sauna, a traditional 10 m² Finnish grill hut (kota) with its own fireplace for barbecuing throughout the year, and a secure lockable storage room for your outdoor equipment - skis and sleds in winter, or mountain bikes in summer.
Built in 2004, Tykkytie Cottage combines traditional Finnish charm with a fresh, comfortable interior. Most of the furniture has been renewed in 2026.
The ground floor features a spacious living room with an open-plan kitchen and lounge area, where the fireplace creates a warm and inviting atmosphere after a day outdoors.
The separate bedroom offers a comfortable 160 cm double bed.
The fully renovated (2026) bathroom features a shower, a toilet, and a washing machine.
Upstairs, the cosy sleeping loft provides two 80 cm wide single beds, while the living room has a comfortable 140 cm sofa bed. An additional mattress is also available in the loft, providing extra sleeping space when needed.
The cottage comfortably accommodates up to 4 adults. For school-aged children and younger, you can inquire with our customer service about the possibility of exceeding the occupancy by 1-2 children (possible additional charge).
At the front of the cabin, there is a covered terrace/living area and a balcony, inviting you to enjoy the fresh air.
The amenities also include: a coffee maker, toaster, electric oven, kettle, and hairdryer.
The center of Posio, including the Pentik Cultural Center and ceramics shop, is 6.5 km away. The nearest store is 6.3 km, Livojärvi sandy beach is 24 km, Riisitunturi National Park is 28 km, and Korouoma is 44 km. Kuusamo is 55 km, Ruka is 60 km, Auttiköngäs is 60 km, Ranua Wildlife Park is 96 km, and Rovaniemi is 139 km. Ski trails and snowmobile routes are right around the corner.
The cross-country ski trail runs directly from the backyard; you can access it straight from the ski storage (“ski-in/ski-out”). Ski racks are located in the wood shed right next to the trail. The racks can hold 4 pairs of downhill skis or 8 pairs of cross-country skis. In winter, sleds are also available in the ski storage. Other equipment, such as skis, can be rented at the Kirintovaara Kirinrinteet parking area.
The disc golf course is a 20-minute walk away, and the cabin provides disc golf equipment (3 discs). Additionally, sleds, a toboggan, snowshoes, and a dart game are available for guests.
In summer, reindeer visit and roam freely around the cabin yard, as they enjoy the slopes of Kirintovaara and like to graze on the berry bushes in the yard.
This cabin is a perfect choice for couples or small families who appreciate being close to nature and a peaceful environment.
